Forskningens syfte \u00e4r att \u00f6ka kunskapen kring luftmilj\u00f6 och ta fram underlag som st\u00f6d till beslutsfattare och myndigheter. Forskningen \u00e4r i huvudsak fokuserad p\u00e5 tv\u00e5 omr\u00e5den: dels luftf\u00f6roreningarnas p\u00e5verkan p\u00e5 v\u00e5r h\u00e4lsa, dels \u00e5tg\u00e4rder f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra luftkvaliteten. Exempel p\u00e5 \u00e5tg\u00e4rder som studeras \u00e4r: dammbindning, hastighetsreglering, dubbd\u00e4cksf\u00f6rbud, bullerplank, tr\u00e4dplantering och  anl\u00e4ggning av olika typer av asfalt.
